Fram Filters (www.fram.com) began in Providence, Rhode Island in 1932 when two chemists (Frederick Franklin and Edward Aldam) invented an easily-replaceable oil filter element. All their original filters were made by hand at a rate of 10 per day. By 1938, Fram had become original equipment for Cadillac, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Graham, and Studebaker. A year later, the firm moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to larger facilities. Over the decades, Fram expanded its operations in Rhode Island, Missouri, and Ohio and included more filtration engineering and research facilities. Fram constantly improves is products with such innovations as SureGRIP, extended interval filters, high-mileage filters, and filters specially designed for synthetic oils.

  • Fram ExtraGuard Oil Filters
    • Engineered for Conventional Motor Oil
    • Cellulose and Glass blended media provides protection for longer oil change intervals
    • 95% filtration efficiency
    • With an ideal balance of dirt-trapping efficiency and dirt-holding capacity, FRAM Extra Guard oil filters use a special blend of fibers and resin to create a proprietary filter media that delivers excellent engine protection
    • Extra Guard is the perfect filter for everyday drivers who perform frequent maintenance on their vehicles
  • Fram ExtraGuard Air Filters
    • Most dirt in your engine enters through your air filter, so install a clean air filter every 12,000 miles
    • A new air filter can increase airflow, horsepower, and improve overall engine performance
    • A clean air filter helps to keep damaging particles from entering your engine and causing increased engine wear
    • Dirty air filters restrict airflow which can contribute to decreased acceleration, horsepower, and reduced overall performance
    • Experts at FRAM engineering laboratories recommend changing every 12,000 miles!
  • Fram Fuel Filters
    • The petrol filter protects the engine supply system, by eliminating any impurities from the fuel. Filtered fuels thus help to increase engine performance and service life.
    • Located any wear in the fuel system between the fuel pump and the injectors, the petrol filter screens out any particles larger than 8 micrometres. In an electronic fuel injection system, the petrol filter must bear a pressure of six bars and have a filtration threshold of 3 to 5 micrometres.
    • Operational requirements related to the periodic replacement of the filter have been covered by FRAM® with lines capable of accommodating “quick” connections so that the filter can be removed without tools and with maximum reliability. To ensure a high level of filter performance and quality, FRAM® uses fully-automatic high performance assembly facility. Each part is individually tested so that it meets the safety requirements for the product.
    • The complete range of FRAM® petrol filters is ready for the newly approved Biofuels.
